Getting Jinging with it - @ work

I created a video refresher for my student staff to complete incident reports.

Here they are

Part 1 Logging in and creating incident report

Part 2 Adding people involved and responding persons

Only thing I do not like is that it only allows you to create video longer than 5 minutes.

Jing part 2 - I LOVE THIS PROGRAM!!!!

This program is amazing! I just had to try it again. This time I used my mic.

I cannot wait to get into the office tomorrow and actually use this to assist with work projects. I will be sure to post the project on my blog once I have completed it.

I am looking forward to hearing what the rest of the class thinks about this program too.

Check out how I use AOL Instant Messenger to assist with work.

Also, I realize while I sit here and wait for this to save after I created the Jing link why Dr. Luck asked for our vidoe capture to be no more than 30 seconds. It takes a while longer when the capture is longer.

Jing

Whew! It took me forever to get this thing working!
I will have to play with it a lot, but I already know one way I want to use it.
I am teaching myself Expression Web for a work project. It is hard to say the least since I am clueless when it comes to web design and programs. I have a friend who works with it daily. Unfortunately, he is in Ames, Iowa! But I plan to ask him to download this program and send me video links on how to work with the program.

Have the instructional videos posted by Dr Luck where great too. This is probably the best new program I have been introduced to in class.
Check out my playing one of the games in Lesson 2. With this one I had the mic on mute.

I have decided I will download this program to my work computer as well. There is program our student staff uses to document incidents that occur in the halls. Many of them forget the steps to create the reports. This would be a great way for me to walk them through the steps! I have created a staff website. I will need to figure out how to use Jing to put the video on that site. If that is beyond my skill level, I will simply create another blog and post it on blogger.com.

Most of the technology we have discussed in class so far I have had some experience with or at least with an equivalent. This is completely new and very exciting!! I know I can use it with my work and I can see how this would be great for educators. Combining it with other technology like one of those smart board laptops would be a huge benefit for a math teacher for example.

Yeah! Games

Thanks a lot, Dr. Luck!!!

Just what I need... another game site to get addicted to.

I can see this being a nice relaxation during a break in the school day, but looking at the games I can see a far better use. This would be an excellent award for students completing an assignment or as an award for some targeted positive behavior in the classroom.

This was my favorite game of the ..... well, I played a lot of them

Youtube

I LOVE Youtube!
I go to the site at least 4 times a week. I have posted material on the site before, but I go their primarily to watch videos.

Until recently, I have never thought of it as anything other than entertainment. However, I have found it very useful to continue with my American Sign Language Skills. I was in an Interpreting program when I was worked at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. I found once I relocated to Clarksville that resources were not as available. Youtube to the rescue! There are many examples of instructional ASL videos posted. Some better than others. Due to my personal pursuit, I can definitely see how Youtube can be used in an educational setting.

In speaking to a friend who is an education major and theatre minor at another university, he states that as an educator he plans to use Youtube to assist his students in developing skills. He thinks it would be a great way for peers to critic performances and see personal improvement. I think that is a fabulous idea and it uses a forum that students are familiar with already.

Here is an example of a video I use to assist me with my ASL.
